Philips Park

Tulip Valley 2008 no1Philips Park is one of Manchester's finest parks.  Opened on 22nd August 1846, after Queens and Peel Park, it is one of the UK's first municipal parks.  It was purchased by the people for the people to be used by everybody - a legacy that proudly lives on today.

Situated in East Manchester, next to the City of Manchester Stadium it covers 31 acres and provides a wide range of facilities. The River Medlock runs through the park, providing a rich habitat for the wide range of wildlife.

The park provides access for disabled people and can be easily reached by public transport from the city centre.

We hope you enjoy exploring Philips Park for yourself. Please help to keep it a safe and healthy environment for this and future generations.
