Groundwork is a federation of Trusts in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, each working with their partners to improve the quality of the local environment, the lives of local people and the success of local businesses in areas in need of investment and support to build sustainable communities in areas of need through joint environmental action.

Since the Medlock Valley Project began in 2003 Groundwork is a key partnership working in partnership with local people and organisations to change places and lives.  A Project Officer to co-ordinate the regeneration of the river valley works closely with wardens and friends groups on local events, volunteering, marketing and publicity.
